The Liss Pavilion Project

10.12.18 The Pavilion roof is now on, the windows and doors are going in and so the new Pavilion will soon be dry inside!

05.10.18 A crane is used to lift the roof trusses into place. 

19.09.18 Walls well on their way up. 

 

04.09.18 The bricklayers are onsite and the walls are on their way up! Scaffolding will go up shortly to allow higher level brick and block work and positioning of the main hall beam for the roof trusses and facias.

 

29.08.18 A view from above showing the foundations and the emerging shape of the new Pavilion. Preparation for the drains and services is in place and the grey water tank has been buried to collect rain water for toilet flushing.

 

26.07.18 The new Pavilion will be placed approximately in the same area as the old Pavilion and Scout Hut. These ground works to the rear are to accommodate the spoil and will be returned to grass when works are complete.


21/07.18 The site is now clear ready for groundworks and construction. The weather has been on our side which has been advantageous.

 

 

19.17.18 The old pavilion has now gone and the demolition team are now working on the old Scout Hut.

 

12.07.18 The old toilet block is the first to go. 

 

 

11.07.18 The site has been fenced off ready for demolition, pending disconnection of the electrical services.

 

*STOP PRESS*: Pavilion project given the go-ahead

At its meeting on 18th June, Council approved the signing of the contract with Tildan Construction for the construction of the new Liss Pavilion. Council also agreed the budget and considered other key issues for the delivery of the project. Demolition will commence early in July. 20/06/18

 

Pavilion Project Update - 1st May 2018

At the Liss Parish Council meeting of 30th April 2018, it was RESOLVED to seek the approval of the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to apply for a loan of £500,000 up to 25 years to fund the new Liss Pavilion. The annual loan repayments will come to around £27,510 a year. These will be repaid from precept budget. LISS PAVILION CONSULTATION OUTCOME:

68% of respondents voted in favour of a small increase the Council Tax precept to help deliver the community pavilion!

Liss Parish Council will now meet next Monday to consider seeking the approval of the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to make an application to the Public Works Loan Board for a loan of up to £500,000 to enable delivery of the facility.

November 2016 update
A consultation exercise was held on Saturday 26th November 2016 in the Village Hall, Saturday 3rd December 2016 at the Liss Infant Christmas Fair and Wednesday 7th December 2016. at the Liss Village Christmas Fair. Please click here for the information displayed.
Written feedback was provided at the first event - please click here for an analysis. Even if you could not make the event, we really want to hear your views. All comments are welcome regarding the design and funding. Please email your thoughts and feedback to assistantclerk@lissparishcouncil.gov.uk. A second round of consultation will take place in due course.

The Committee 
The Liss Pavilion Development Committee meets on a monthly basis to progress the redevelopment of the existing Pavilion and Scout Hut sited on the West Liss Recreation Ground. Agendas of meetings will be displayed in advance on the notice board and one the Council Meetings page of this website. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
