Allotments

Liss Parish Council manage approximately 140 individual plots at 6 separate allotment sites around Liss.  Allotments have become increasingly popular over the last decade and there is currently a waiting list for plots.  Please contact the Parish Office if you wish to be added to the list and include your full postal address.  (Please note that plots are only available to residents of Liss).

The allotments are managed by the Grounds Committee, who conduct quarterly inspections.  Tenants are expected to comply with terms and conditions set out in a tenancy agreement and, failure to do so, could result in eviction.

The allotments are a registered charity which is subsidised by the Parish Council.  Tenants pay an annual rental as follows:

Annual rent charges for 2013:

Small plot - £14.00 Medium plot - £21.00

Large plot - £28.00

Best Kept Allotment Competition

There is an annual Best Kept Allotment Competition organised jointly by the Liss Horticultural Society and LPC.  Inspections are undertaken by an independent volunteer and awards are presented at the Liss Horticultural Society Annual Show in August.  Three awards are on offer this year for:

1.  Best Kept Allotment (full size plot)
2.  Best Kept Allotment (half size plot and under)
3.  Best Progress

Allotment Users Group

An allotment users group was formed in 2008 to allow tenants to discuss any issues with the Grounds Committee.  These meetings have resulted in improvements to the allotment sites, such as improved security and water installation.  Please report any issues to your representative, details of which are displayed on individual site gates.
