Liss Parish Council September Update

Published: 07 September 2022

Liss Parish Council is very pleased to have caried out a complete refurbishment of the children's play area at West Liss Recreation Ground. A toddler slide will be added to the den shortly! We are grateful to the South Downs National Park Authority for part funding the project from CIL funds (money from planning proceeds). This forms part of a wider strategy to improve recreation provision across the village. Liss Parish Council will be considering the feedback from the survey on the temporary pump track later in the month as part of consideration of facilities for older children and teenagers.

The Village Hall repainting is nearing completion and Wi-Fi was added during the summer holidays with some improvement works to the Pavilion too, both facilities are looking great and ready for bookings throughout the Autumn. Please get in touch if you wish to enquire about a booking, for a one of event or regular slot. It has also been great to see increased use of the football pitch and changing rooms at West Liss Recreation Ground recently.

Following your feedback, residents will see village gateways being installed at entrances to the parish over the next few weeks, along with improvements on Hill Brow Road, outside the schools, also being undertaken.

Finally, Liss Parish Council is working with Hampshire Services to develop proposals to improve the village centre. Consultations have been taking place over the summer - and you can keep up to date with progress and next steps on this specially created website: https://lissvillagecentre.commonplace.is/

Do keep up with developments on our social media (Facebook and Twitter in particular) or on our website (www.lissparishcoucil.gov.uk).
